ALBERT CUYP. 327
151. A View over an open ssat Country, intersected in the
middle distance by a navigable river, beyond which the
country rises to a hill, on the summit of which are a church

varied with trees, hedges, and a few cottages; and on the left
and front is a peasant boy sleeping on the ground near four
sheep. A little beyond this group are two gentlemen, who
have dismounted from their steeds (a bay and a black) ; one of
them, apparently intended for the artist, is seated, occupied
