Among a number of vessels (chiefly large merchantmen) are,
on the right -and front, a ship of war, with a richly-carved and
gilt stern ; a yacht, carrying a yellow flag, firing a salute;
and a small pleasure boat: three other boats are still more to
the right. On the opposite side are several fishing vessels,
and a row-boat full of passengers. A cloudy sky casts a
gloom over the busy scene.
