with two men in it, is approaching from the left: several
other vessels are distributed over the receding parts of the
scene.

32. A View off the Coast of Holland, in calm weather.
On the left, is a group of three smacks, with their sails hang-
ing loosely on the yards, and a boat with a* sailor in it,
moored near a sandbank, in which is fixed an anchor. On
the opposite side is a sailor standing in the water by the side
of his boat. A merchant ship and other vessels adorn the
distance. A clear and beautiful example.
