most notable things in the collection; while the
Amsterdam, Dordrecht, Ploughing and Stormy Day
are the pick of a remarkable series of masterpieces
by James Maris. In no other English collection
is William Maris, the youngest of the three famous
brothers, so well represented, and the other leaders
of the school, Israel and Mauve, are also seen to
