The face is well finished. The top is rounded. The rows of letters are separated by
incised lines. Height of letters ffg-Sf cm.
Οσεο'αίλ/? Σαβίνου ετ(ών) ρ.γζ.
i. e. Usaidaf (daughter) of Sabimts.
On the name Οσεό'οίδτ? see no. 73. For the masculine form ΟσαιοΤς see no. 509.

486. Stele. Found lying in the ruins of a tomb situated about 70 m. east of
the tomb where nos. 481-484 were found, and designated as “Tomb no. 3”. Height
1.19 m.; width 23—25 cm. The inscribed portion of the face is half finished, the lower
part is rough. Height of inscribed portion 51 cm. Height of letters 61/3-81/2 cm.
Μαξφκζ Βερσου έτ(ών) νς·ζ.
Βερσος probably represents an Arabic Birs. We have found no other example of
the name.

488. Stele. Standing in the ground at the left of the entrance of the tomb
which is about 325 m. south of the south gate of the city, and in which no. 275
was also found (“Tomb no. 5”). The stele is probably in situ. Height above the
ground 40 cm.; width 27—32 cm. The surface of the stone is naturally smooth but
uneven. The letters are not regularly carved, but merely scratched on the surface.

Height of letters 5-7 cm.
