and all the central ornament are in relief. Copied by Dr. Littmann.

+ Ύπερ εύχί,ς (καί) σωτηρίας
Δορετίου, Μ(α)ρεα, (καί) Συνκλη-
τεκ(τ7ς), της αύτοΰ γαμέτης.
Church Lintel. Inscr. 922.
For (the) vow and (for the) salvation of Dometios, (son) of Mareas, and of Syn-
kletike, his wife.
Evidently the pious Dometios built both of the twin churches. This one, the northern-
most, was perhaps dedicated to the archangel Gabriel. See No. 920 and its commentary.
923. The same church. Lintel found upon the ground between the twin churches.
Undoubtedly it belonged to the south doorway of the northernmost church. It is broken
at both ends. The present length is 2 m., the height 77 cm. The inscription is in a
single line, 5 cm. below the top of the stone. The letters are in relief, and are 11 cm. high.
Published by Dr. Lucas, Byz. Zeitschr. xiv, p. 45, No. 60.

+ Ευφρά]νθίν επί τοίς ηρικουσιν pot ' Εις οίκον Κυρίου πορευ[σομ.εΘα.
-{- I rejoiced at those who said to me: We shall go to (the) house of (the) Lord.
These words are from Psalm cxxi, 1. Εύφρα'νΘιν is for εύφραζνΘην, ηρίκουσιν for είρηκόσιν.
See also No. 922 and its commentary.
924. Lintel. Broken in two pieces and fallen across its jambs, standing 35 yards
north of the twin churches, on the street on which the western doors of these churches
opened. I could not discover from the foundations the nature of the building to which
the present lintel belonged: the walls of the building have entirely disappeared. In
the center of the lintel is a disk inclosing a cross, in relief below the surface, and on
either side of the disk is a bird, also in relief. The bird on the left is doubtless a
peacock with an abbreviated tail, the bird on the left a dove. The inscription is incised.
Copied by Dr. Littmann and the editor.

of Kyrikos, and Antia, (daughter?) of Ianaios, and Odreos.
