The Badisches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe

The Badisches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe is the largest central museum of culture, art and regional history in the Baden region of Baden-Württemberg. Its collections range from prehistory and early history through the Middle Ages to the 21st century. Founded in 1919 and opened in 1921 in the rooms of Karlsruhe Palace, the museum's holdings also include objects from older collections, some of which date back to the 16th century.

As a major cultural history museum for the Baden region, it presents the culture of Baden in dialogue with evidence of cultures around the world, with a focus on Europe. World culture, regional history and everyday regional culture are brought together and linked in a major cultural history exhibition.

In addition to its headquarters in Karlsruhe Palace, the Badisches Landesmuseum has eight other museums and archives affiliated with it, from Bruchsal to Salem on Lake Constance.
