Beki Hasan. Mr. Garstang reports on his excavations of 1902 4.
He especially describes the groups of objects which were taken for the
Cairo Museum, with an admirable series of photographs illustrating the
finds, and M. Lacau publishes full copies of the religious texts from the
coffins, four in number. Ann. v. 215.
Tehneh. The work of MM. Lefebyre, Jodguet and Barry, discover-
ing the temple of the ancient Acoris, with worship of Ammon, Dioscuri,

Ehnasya. Prof. Petrie's memoir on excavations for the Egypt Ex-
ploration Fund in 1903-4, tracing the successive buildings of the temple
of Heracleopolis Magna, and describing the objects found, including the
gold statuette of the god Harshafe dedicated by king Peftuaubaste.
Mr. Currelly describes the pottery. A supplementary volume of texts and
plates, under the name of Bo man Elinasi/a, is devoted to the Roman terra-
cotta statuettes and lamps (many from the Fayum) and architectural
notes.
ABUsiR el Malaq. Egyptological results of the excavations of the
1 >eutsche Orient Gesellschaft at this site (nearly opposite to the entrance
to the Fayum), especially the forms of the tombs and modes of burial in
late times. The necropolis was called the " northern Abydos," and was
used by the people of Heracleopolis. Bubexsoiin and Knatz, A. Z. xli. 1.

Memphis. Daninos Pascha contributes a note on his work in 1901 at
Mitrahineh, in which a large number of open-work bronze plaques of the
XXV-XXVIth Dynasty were found. Ann. v. 142.
Abusir. The article contributed by Wiedemann to Umschau on the
German excavations at Abusir is translated in the Smithsonian Reports,
1903, pp. 6G9-680.
Gizeh. A report by Steindorff on his excavations near the Pyramid
of Cheops is reprinted in 0. L. Z. viii. 306. Some 50 brick and stone
tombs were cleared, and 30 stone statues and statuettes found of grandees
and servants.
