Pentures en fer forgé qui consolident et décorent en même

■aent sculpté en pierre. — Ferronnerie et sculpture sont mar-
iées au coin des belles productions du xin" siècle. C'est à la
'°'s sobre et puissant, ferme de lignes et large de modelé, et
' eosemble ne laisse absolument aucune prise à la critique. Cette
porte sert d'entrée aux sacristies de la cathédrale.

In one of our preceding numbers,we have reproduced the fine
wrought-iron hinges which altogether strengthen and docorate
tbe wooden door of wbich the stone-sculptured crowning is
figured above. Tho ironwork as well as the sculpture bear Ihe
stamp of the best works of the xiii"' century. Sober and
powerful, firm contour, grand modelling, in fact, it is abova
criticism. This exquisite doorway leads to the sacristies o£
the cathedral.
