Ces beau* motifs do sculpture ornementale appartiennent
l'un et l'autre aux pieds-droits des portails. — On y remarque
Urie étude attentive de la nature, et les attaches des tiges sont

Kouen, et se trouve, quoique très-beau et d'un large caractère,

The two fine motives of ornemental sculpture belong to the
jambs of the portais. The careful study of nature and the
clever insertion of the stems is very noticeable.
The motive fig. 3184 belongs to the Rouen cathedral, but
although very fine and full of character, it is inferior to the
Sens ornament wlio is better disposed as regards the décorative
effect.
