shown in photograph No. 3, the king is depicted as a victor, smiting the
vanquished. These sculptures are the more remarkable as they are in
relief, most of the others being in intaglio. When the size of the figures,
and area of the walls covered, are taken into account, it will be seen
that the labour of executing them must have been enormous.
