of a Modern Date. I know but Two
in the Upper Empire, belides the Spin*
tria, that lye under any Suspieion of it.
The first is one of Marcus Aurelius,
where, in Compliment to the Emperor
and Empress, they have damp’d on the
Reverie the Figure of Venus caressing
Mars, and endeavouring to detain him
from the Wars.
