sa progéniture, occupe la partie
supérieure.
Deux bandes verticales, à
droite et à gauche contiennent
ce verset des commandements
de Dieu : « honora patrem
tuum et matrem tuam, ut sis
longœvus super lerram. »
Les médaillons d'angle dont
nous avons parlé plus haut,
contiennent quatre scènes
ayant trait à la piété filiale :
en haut à gaucho, c'est le
jeune Tobie ouvrant les yeux
de son père avec le fiel du
poisson qu'il tient encore;
l'ange se voit derrière lui. La
portant son père Anchise et
fuyant Troie. La troisième
scène, dans le bas et à droite,
doit représenter Boëce en pri-
son ; mais la quatrième échappe
à notre érudition.
La fig. 1712 contient au
centre un portrait flanqué de
Mars et de Minerve avec cette
contrived and executed fron-
tispieces that may come under
one's notice. Four circulai'
medaltions are hooked on a
wreath of laurel vvhich is the
