AU CHATEAU DE BOURBON-L’ARCHAMBAULT (ALLIER'.
Au rez-dc-chaussée de la tour centrale de la partie nord du
château de Bourbon-l’Archambault, on voit six culs-de-lampe
représentant, croit-on, le châtelain, la châtelaine et leurs prin-
cipaux serviteurs. Le motif fig. 5270 serait la figure du chape-
lain. Taillée dans un grès grossier, cette figure, traitée très lar-
gement, par plans, produit un grand effet.

On the ground floor of the central tower of the north part, of
Bourbon-l’Archambault castle are six corbels representing, ac-
cording to tradition, the lord and the lady of the manor and
their principal officers. Fig. 5270 représenta the chaplain.
Sculptured in coarse sandstone and largely worked out by plans,
it is most effective.
