CHAPTER VII.
LAARA—SIDE.
JLaara is five miles from Adalia, and
though now wholly abandoned, contains
sufficient evidence in its artificial port,
in a decayed aqueduct, and in other ves-
tiges of antient buildings, of its having
been in former ages, a city of some mag-
nitude : and if I have succeeded in prov-
ing Adalia to have been the antient Ol-
bia, it will necessarily follow that Laara
was the antient Attalia.
