(a) Hind galloping to r., its head en face.

(b) Sphinx couchant to 1., with wings extended at back and wavy hair
wreathed.

E 732. ASKOS. Old No. 960. Ht. 2-5 in. Towneley Coll. Drawing of good period, but some-

what careless. Brown inner markings. Eye in profile.

(a) Bull galloping to r.

(b) Seilenos advancing cautiously to 1., with body bent and arms extended
as if to seize something.

E 733. ASKOS. Ht. 2J in. Nola. Blacas Coll. Drawing late and coarse. Brown inner

markings. Eye in profile. The beard of the figure in (b) is indicated in outline only.

(a) Seilenos moving to r. on hands and knees. [Cf. the left-hand figure
in E 65 (a).]

(/;) The same, to 1.; here he extends his r. hand as if to receive something.

Drawing late and coarse. Brown inner markings and hair of goat. Eye in profile.

(<?) Goat springing to r., with 1. foreleg raised.

(/;) Satyr kneeling to 1., bending forward on his 1. hand, and with his r.
beckoning to the goat ; he is bald on the crown, and has a very small beard at
the end of his chin.

(a) Satyr or Pan and dog.

(li) Seilenos, reclining on the ground to r., looking round, his 1. leg bent
beneath him, resting the weight of his body on his r. hand.
