The 1916 inventory classifies the painting as Italian 17th century (sic); it
was a pendant or other part of a larger cycle illustrating the works of Christ
(see previous entry). Since Bramer possessed an unusual ability to imitate the
styles of various- artists, which the literaturę devoted to his work emphasises,
the attempt to attribute both paintings to him does not seem impossible.
