A decorative pattern composed of impressed triangles, typical for North
Mesopotamia, can often be found on the shoulders of jars. Two Hellenistic
bronze coins, one dated to the rule of Demetrius II Nicator (146-125 B.C.),
the other can be assigned to the times of Antioch III (222-187 B.C.) or
AJexander I (150-145 B.C.), allow for dating the later phase of this settlement
to the second half of the 2nd centnry B.C. Further investigation on this highly
interesting site shall focus on gaining morę thorough knowledge of the
structure and functioning of the town from the first half of the third
millennium B.C.
