standing ears; two horns arched to back of neck, with six-petal rosette between. On forehead a
double globule of gold resembles a unicorn's horn. Breast covered with double rosette, eight
petals in inner and eleven in outer part; globule of gold in centre. Rear end of spiral is covered
with a cap, the neck of which represents six coils, and the extremity a closed rosette with six leaves.
The collection contains five specimens more or less complete.
14. Spiral; round. Diameter 3^ inch. One and one-half turns in coil. End show lion's
head and pointed rosette.
15. Spiral; round. Diameter % inch. One and one-half turns in coil. Same as No.
14, but not as distinct.
16. 17. Spirals, pair. Height \l/2 to iS/% inch. Diameter 1 to 3^ inch.
Double dragon's head, mounted, like sphinx, on a pedestal, with front paws protruding.
Ram's horns on each head. Wings on sides which curve forward to the ears. Between the dragons,
on pedestal is the conventional "sacred tree." Beneath is a triple rosette, differing in the two
examples. Rear end of coil has lost its ornament.
18. Spiral; round. Diameter 7/% inch. One and one-half turns to coil. Similar to No. 14.
19, 20. Spirals; oval. Length il/% to 1% inch. Two and one-half to two-thirds turns in
coil.
21, 22. Earrings, round. Diameter \yA inch.

almost plain, as here, to the thickened " basket "pattern shown on another plate.
