Plate XLVII.
i. Bowl. Bronze. Green, with brown shadings. Height i3^ inch. Diameter 5%
inches. Found at Curium.
The bottom is small and slightly concave. The sides flare abruptly, and are corrugated to
the edge. Two semi-elliptical spaces of plain metal near edge seem to indicate an attempt to imi-
tate a scallop shell.
2. Basin. Bronze. Dark green with brownish patches. Diameter g7/% inches. Height
134 inch. Found at Curium.
Shallow. Bottom slightly curved, sides abrupt; lip has interior overhang. The edge is
reinforced by a band of metal rivetted on. This band carries a double spool ornamentation (length
of each, l/^ inch); originally five on each side of handles. Handles and three spools missing.
3. Basin. Bronze. Shades of brown with green spots. Diameter 12'10 inches. Height
\l/% inch. Width of rim S/g inch. Found at Curium.
Shallow. Rim decorated with l/A inch dots in relief. In the centre is a depressed circle
ornamented with a rosette, and surrounded with radiating floral decorations, in the midst of which
are four antelopes with long curved horns, which bend back to the ends of the long ears. The
curved part of the bowl shows two sets of circular lines. A handle (only one present) ovate in
shape, is hinged on spurs or prongs fastened in loops in a plate, rivetted to the side of the bowl.
This bearing plate has an animal head at each end of it.
4. Basin, with handles. Bronze. Dark color with rusty patches. Diameter 11 inches.
Height 1 }4 mcn- Found at Curium.
Bottom flat, with sides curving gradually. Decorated at edge with a corrugated band (S/$
inch wide), with ten transverse bars (1^ inch long) in high relief, and ending in balls above and
below. Two handles are attached to sides by double spools with three rims.
