i. Statuette of Osiris. Bronze. Brown, with light green in the depressed lines. Height,
43/s inches. Shown full size. From Amathus.
Purely Egyptian. Human figure, erect, swathed in mummy bands, hands free, right holds
link or curved sceptre, left holds a scourge. Figure is bearded and wears the usual Osirian
"white" crown of Upper Egypt, flanked by "truth" feathers and having a uraeus-serpent in front.
Stands on a square pedestal with a dowel below.
2. Seated statuette of Isis and Horus. Bronze. Shades of green. Height, 3% inches.
From Amathus.
Isis, seated, holds the infant Horus on her lap. Isis has a uraeus on her forehead; on
head is a headdress which has a dowel-hole to receive the usual crown, which is miss-
ing. Grooved lines on either side indicate hairbraids. She wears a close-fitting garment which
reaches to her ankles; feet on pedestal, with dowel under same. Right hand at left breast; left
holds the child. Horus is naked; has usual side-lock over right ear. Dowel under to fasten
to seat.
3. Seated Statuette of Harpocrates. Bronze. Light green. Height, *]Y% inches. From
Amathus.
Seated; has left forefinger at lips ; naked. Right hand gone from wrist, originally parallel
with thigh. Wig descends to breast on each side; curled lock over left ear. Elaborate head-
dress ; uraeus on forehead; twisted horns at base of crown which consists of three lotus-stalk
columns bound like a sheaf. On face of each sheaf is a disk, and a disk surmounts each. On
each side of the series is a "truth" feather, and outside of these again on each side is a uraeus.
The feet rest on a pedestal with a dowel underneath.
4. Eagle. Bronze. Shades of dark green. Height, 4%g inches. Spread of wings, 6^
inches. Found at Curium.
