Note D, page 18Q.

For the purpose of further elucidating the geography of antient Egypt,
and for the convenience of reference to the reader, I have here subjoined an
extract from the Itinerary of Antoninus Augustus, comprehending, First,
The names of the several towns, and their respective distances from G:iza,
near the Syrian frontier, to Alexandria: Secondly, The route from Alexandria
along the West bank of the river to Hierasycaminon : Third!)/, That from
Pelusium to Memphis: Fourthly, That from Hierasycaminon along the
Eastern or Arabian side of the river to Clysma and Pelusium : Fifthly, The
line of stations from Coptos to Berenice.

The orthography which I have adopted is that of the text of Wesseling's
edition, mdccxxxv.
