Karten, im Anfang ein Wappen-
bild, am Schlüsse zwei Seiten Ta-
bellen mit geographischen und
astronomischen Berechnungen. Sei-
tengrösse 25: IS1/^ cm, Kartengrösse

bedeutendsten italienischen Kartenzeich-
ners seiner Zeit. Datiert und mit
nachstehender eigenhändiger

8 augusti.
Bisher unbeschrieben und nur
von Kretschmer unter Nr. 24 erwähnt,
aus dem Besitz von Perez Junquera,
Madrid.
Der Atlas weist die für Agnese
charakteristische Kartentechnik auf, die
beiden letzten Karten Nr. 22 (La terra
nostra habitata) und Nr. 23 (La terra
nostra et il mondo novo) sind ab-
weichend von den übrigen in Globen-
streifen gegeben, die aneinanderstoßen.
Alle Karten sind sehr genau und fein
ausgeführt, die Farben frisch erhalten;
die Küsten auf den meisten Blättern
schwarz, blau und rot umrändert, kleine
Inseln sind grün, blau oder goldig aus-
gemalt. Eingezeichnete Gebäude und
Figuren sind rot mit goldener Aus-
malung dargestellt. Auf den Karten
Nr. 1, 3, 23, 19 befinden sich Engels-

ginning an escutcheon, at the end
two pages of tables with geo-
gräphical and astronomical calcu-
lations. Sizeof the leaves 25: IS1/^
cm, size of the maps 201/a: 321/2 cm.

A portolan-atlason vellum of
the most distinguished Italian carto-
grapher of his time. Dated and de-
signated by B. Agnese in his own
hand in the left corner of map 4 as
follows: Baptista agnese fuit venenetijs
anno dni 1559 die 8 augusti.
An up to now undescribed atlas,
mentioned only by Kretschmer at No. 24,
priviously in the possession of Perez
Junquera, Madrid.
Themapsarein design and drawing
conspicuously the work of Agnese, the
two last ones, viz. No. 22 (La terra
nostra habita) and No. 23 (La terra
nostra et il mondo novo) differ from
the other ones in this that they are
drawn in spherical sections touching
each other. All the charts are minutely
and finely executed, the colours have
lost nothing of their freshness, the
coasts on most of the leaves have bor-
ders in black, blue, or red, small Is-
lands are painted in green, blue, or gold,
buildings and figures are given in red
heightened with gold. On maps No. 1,
3, 23, 19 there are angels heads in mi-
niature painting, to which on the three
