A most valuable collection of important documents relating to the wars of South
American independence, here published for the first time. The whole materai
embodied in the 12 volumes was gathered and arranged by general Bartolomé M'tre
and is now preserved in the Museo Mitre at Buenos Aires The general San Martin is
known to be not only the champ on of the liberty of Argentina, but also of Peru and
Chile. T*>e present publication was edited by Don A. Rosa, director of the Museo Mitre.

Very scarce, particularly when together with the third volume, which is not mentioned
by Sabin. Mo-t of the copies which occurred for sale were wanting the portraits at
all. Somewhat lo^ed and with some marginal inscriptions.

cument with his own signature, dated Caracas, February third,
1827, countersigned by José A. Paez, first president of Vene-
zuela after her separation from Columbia (1790—1873). Folio.

Relates to the appointment of Captain Diego Gonzalez to a “Comandante”.
Documents exhibiting the signatures of these two celebrated South-American combined
are extremely rare.
