rias Solin auf Schloss Kralitz (bei Willimowitz in Mähren) auf Kosten des
Schlossherrn, Johann von Zerotin, gedruckt. Der grösste Teil des Kommen-
tars stammt von Johann Nemcansky und Zacharias Ariston. Diese Bibel-
übersetzung wird bis auf den heutigen Tag als ein Muster tchechischer Sprache
angesehen.
Der vorliegende 6. Band enthält die Apokryphen. Er ist zu Anfang und Ende
etwas wurmstichig, die letzten Blätter leicht wasserfleckig, sonst gut und
sauber erhalten.
Der böhmische Originaleinband enthält auf dem oberen Deckel
oben eingepresst „Dil paty" (5. Teil), darunter die Buchstaben M K R. In
der Mitte ein jetzt leicht verwischter ovaler Plattenstempel mit Darstellung
der Himmelsleiter, unten die Jahreszahl 1605. Der Plattenstempel des Rücken-
deckels zeigt die Himmelfahrt des Elias mit Elisa kniend im Vordergrund.
Ein Stück der oberen rechten Ecke des Vorderdeckels ist ausgebrochen, auch
ist das Leder in den Gelenken gebrochen, die Schliessen und zwei Metall-
beschläge fehlen.
Das interessante Stück stammt aus der Bibliothek des Earl of Crawford, dessen
Exlibris im Vorderdeckel eingeklebt ist.
Auf dem Vorblatt liest man folgenden von alter Hand (17. Jahrh.J herrührenden
Eintrag: „Hic über suspectus est dum quod taceat de auctore et loco
editiönis huius . . .“ Auch der Rücken trägt eine Papieretikette mit Auf-
schrift „Liber suspectus“.

The unique and original manuscript of the „Origines biblicae" of Charles
Tilitone Beke, the famous geographer and traveller, born in London in 1800,
died in Bromley 1874.
He first made himself known as an author by this work in w-hich be endeavoured
to reconstruct the early history of human race. As is well-known the view
he put forward excited considerable Opposition. Beke was in 1836—1837
appointed British Consul in Leipzig (Saxony).
Besides the corrections of the author this manuscript is most interesting as
containing many unpublished passages, having been revised by the author
probably for a 2nd volume, which has not been published — and brought down
to about 1874. Neatly written, partly in another hand.
