HICK DISAPPEARS PROM CIVIL
SUPPLY GO DOWN
OFFICER-IN-CHARGK ARRESTED

Darjeeling, Sept. 12
1800 maunds of good
rice belonging to the Civil
Supplies Department has
mysteriously disappeared
from the Darjeeling godown
of the department. This
discovery was made by
the Sub-Divisional Contro-
ller of food, Darjeeling
during his inspection of
the godown.
This was immediately
brought to the notice of
the Additional Deputy
Commissioner, Darjeeling
and the officer in charge
of the godown was taken
into police custody. While
the officer has subsequently
been released on bail vi-
gourous enquiry is being
made in the matter it
is reliably learnt here.

All Food Ration shops
--.will remain closed on the
28th Sept. 1952 on account
of “Bijaya Dasami". Card-
holders due to draw their
ration on that day may
draw their rations on any
other day of week except
Saturday.

CAMPAIGN
Kalimpong, Sept. 8
The second social
service campaign of the
Govt. High School, Kalim-
pong, was resumed on
Saturday, the 6tlT' Sept.
1952 with the same ob-
ject as before that is, to
give a new orientation
to the minds of our school
children on the moral
value of social service.
The bovs of the four
Houses equipped with
tools and implements came
to school as usual and
fell in files in the school
ground to receive nece-
ssary instructions from
the Headmaster. *" Thp
Houses were 1 hen led by
their respective lenders to
the four different zones
in the Bustees previously
selected for the purpose.
This time the boys showed
commendable zeal and
insight into the method
and procedure of their
respective works and this
was really a striking fea-
ture of this campaign.
The Headmaster went
round the selected zones
and personally apprised

tri, Sri Yograj Subba and
Sri Agnirai Shreshtba.
In reply, Sri Gurung
exhorted_the guardians of
Sports and Games of the
District to create facilities
for our young boys to learn
and improve the standard
of game.

labours of the young boys.
