N'ISW COLONY FOR SIUGURI

A Co-operative Building Society
has been formed to enable the middle
class people whose needs'are most urgent
to own and build a home-stead.

For this purpose, the Pradhan
Nagar Co-operative Society has taken
land at Prodhan Nagar. Siliguri within
the Municipal area, Ward, No. VIII,
which is situated on the east side and
just oppQsite to Siliguri Junction Railway
Station.

The land being high and open is
ideally situated for a coloroy with the
ptivilage of all amenities. After being
• surveyed, all the plots have-been pro-
perly planned from engineering and
sanitation points of view and demarcated
with t-be provision of Bazar, Kat,
Schools etc.

Person who intends to enjoy Ihe
■' benefit of the Society must be a member

of it by obtaining a plot on payment
of its value in the colony and a minimum
share of Rs. 100/-. The maximum share
has been fixed Rs 1000/-. And when
he wants to build a house, he will have
to pav one-third of the estimated value
of the house and balance will be arranged
by the Society on an interest provided
in the Co-operative Rules,. repayable by
instalments.

Price of the land has been fixed
for Rs. 150/-, Rs. 175/- and Rs. 200 -
per cottah as per classifications.

5 cottahs and 10 cottabs plots are
available.

I he Society will undertake to build
a house by obtaining materials on control
rate. As a matter of fact the Society
Iras already propressed on this line.

The policy of the present Govern-
ment is to encourage such type of
Societies so the members can get all
possible facilities.
