The exhibition of the
new Steelwork! being built
at Durgapur, opened in
Loudon to day, for the
whole month. The story
of (book (Indian Steel-
works Construction Com-
pany, Ltd )—the Consor-
tium of 13 Companies
responsible for the eons-
truction of these Steel-
works—is on show in a
window display at India
House, Aldwych. This
miniature exhibition vivid-
ly deplete the part played
by iscok and its member
Companies in India's . se-
oond Five-Year Plan, ma-
terial and equipment flow
tag outward from Britain
to India. E^ibita from
individual Companiee are
displayed in weekly rota-
tion against a continuous
background of iscon and
its aotivities up to date.
We have been very
busy this week with Press
Conferences and inter-
views with the Tunisian
Ambassador, the Indian
Ambassador in Pari*. Sir-
dar Pannikar. who is at
present in London, a re-
ception by the High Com-
missioner for India, inter-
viewing Dr. Chedie Jagan,
lunching with the Chan-
cellor of the Exchequer
who gave us a background
story about 'the forth-
coming Commonwealth
Economic Conference in
Montreal. From next week
there' will be a general
exodus from this country
for Summer holidays Most
of the Indian students,
Doctors, Journalists and
officials of India House
are flying to the Conti-
nent for a fortnight's holi-
day. Your Correspondent
is leaving, for Rome' at
the invitation, of the
