lion Mr. Nehru laid the
delegation eould not quite
be oalled a Parliamentary
delegation. He oould not

it was selected.

•pent on the Dalai Lama
and his party while a
sum ofRs. 41,59,614 had
been spent on the relief
and rehabilitation of the
Tibetan Refugees,

The Maharajkumar of
Sikkirn left Gangtok today
en route to Russia. He
will visit Moscow as a
member of the eight-man
Indian delegation tn the
25th International Con-
gress of orientalists to be
held there from August
10 to 17.
The Maharajkumar,
who was invited to attend
the conference because of
hi? conaidearable know-
ledge of Buddhism and
Tibetology, will address
world delegates to the
conference on these sub-
ject.
In 19M, the Maharaj-
kumar led a Sikkimese
delegation to the sixth
Sangayana in Rangoon
and in 1958 visited Japan
in connexion with the
Japanese 2,500 Buddha
Jayanti celebiations
This is the Maharaj-
kumar'a seoond visit to
Moscow where he was the
guest of India Embassy
in 1968. The delegation
led by Dr S. K. Chatter-
jee will leave Delhi on
August 6.

HILL SCHOOLS ANNUAL
TESTS BEFORE DEC.
Darjeeling, Aug. 4
A circular from the
Board of Secondary Edu-
cation has direoted all
the hill schools to com-
plete their annual exami-
nations this year before
the commencement of
winter holidays in view
of the Board's decision to
revert to the original
school year form 1962.
The next year, however
the school session would
commence from mid Feb-
ruary. The latest decision
is very welcome to all
hill schools who had been
finding inconvenient to
hold annual examina-
tion in early March.

IN KATHMANDU
Kathmandu, Aug. 2
Mr. Chang-shih Chieh,
China's Ambassador-desig-
nate at King Mabendra's
court> arrived here this
afternoon to take up his
assignment. Mr. Chang
was rece ved at Gauoher
airfield by the King's
Military Secretary, and
other diplomats.
