Hongkong, Oct. 2
The Panohen Lama,
acting Chairman of the
Preparatory Committee
for the Tibet Autonomous
Region, declared that the
Chsdong area, where many
of the recent Chinese-
Indian clashes occurred,
had always belonged to
China, the New China
News Agency reported
today.

The agency said the
Panohen Lama speeding

The National Cleanli-
ness Day was observed
at Kurseong on October
2, 1962 in a befitting
manner. In the morning,
Scouts, A.C.C and the
students of different
schools paraded the main
streets of the Town shout-
ing slogans on cleanliness.

held at the Cbowk Bazar
under the Presidentship
of Shri P. T. Lania, Chair-
man, Kurseong Municipa-
lity. Shri D B. Chhetri,
Shri L. B. Bhandari and
Shri Prem Thrpa, Bpoke
on the life and teachings
of Mahatma Gandhi, ob-
jective of observing the
National Cleanliness Day
and the people's co-ope.

decision to boycott the
