COMMUNALISM IN BORDER AREAS

The grim possibilities
.hat oonfront our Mother-
and due to abandoned
md naked aggression by
Communist Cbina cn our
)3rd--rs have made every
oyal and right thinking
iitizen realise that this
s no time for petty party
iquabbles, sitting on th«
Eenoe, indulging in petty
md stupid recrimination*.
Rather it is a time wln-ii
we should demonstrate to
the whole world, and es-
pecially to the whole
communist world, that we
are uuited as never before,
and that we Bhall face
whatever cornea in a spi-
rit of dedication and love
for our beloved country.
All thought of ••self'
must be lost and replaced
only by love of country.
The defence of India and
our borders can be the
only dominating thought.
Evt-n the idea of elections
in Sikkira, du • early m-xt
year, with the contnvr-
sial problem of coinmur.e.1
voting, should, at thiB
oriticat moment in th~
border history, be post-
poned until a clearer pic-
ture of the border can be

obtained. Nothing *rhich
arouses communal feelings
of any description should
be allowed to arise at
this critical juncture espe-
cial y in the border regions.

LET DALAI LAMA BROADCAST
TO TIBETANS
New Delhi, Oct. 25
The Tibet Swaraj Com-
mittee, a non party or-
ganization of intellectuals
and public workers, ap-
pealed to the Government
to allow the Dalai Lama
tii broadcast a message to
the people of Tibet,

Such a message, the
committee thought, was
necessary because the
Chinese were conducting
an intensive propaganda
in Tibet and indoctrinat-
ing and intimidating were
in iking t lie Tibetans parti•
r:]j«t.. in the Chinese
attack cu India.

V-other suggestion the
comm tti e made today was
that Indian Consulate-
Geuera I in Lhasa should
be wrhdrawn and the
Chin se Consulate General
in Calcutta should be shut
down.
