INDO-CHIXA UELATIOXS

The Chinese have re-
jected the counter pro-
posal by India to settla
the Smc Indian border
dispute by peaceful means.
China's Foreign Minister
has said that only terms
advanced by China ir: her
proposal dated 2ist Nov.
1962 ere acceptable to
them.

Although the case
fire proposal were to be
effective from l.ecemb*r
1, 1962. not much with
drawals have been noticed
on the Chinese side. Re-
ports from NftFA e.Ho
indicates ih*t the Chinese
aotually violated their own
cease-fire proposal by firing
on Indian j«watis.

India has repeatedly
made it clear that no
negotiations can start un-
less Chinese withdraw to
8th September line. It now
appears that China do-'S
not want to withdraw
completely from Indian
soil, i <••• they want to
establish civil posts an
Duola & Lotigju.

Prime Minister Sehru
has said that now it is
for India to decide what
action should be taken if

Chinese do not withdraw.
India could gain control
of the occupied areas 'by
agreement or by force.
Now iit the moment we
r-re discussing as to what
c«d be done by agree-
ment '

In any case India
cannot think of anv re-
laxarion of her war efforts
at, the present moment.
Only through the unspar-
ing shedding of blood,
sweat and tears can we
preserve our territorial
integrity and national
independi nee.
