Obscure and Colouring ; and Titian was great
only in Colouring, and in imitation of Nature.
From whence one may say, that Raphael was
the most estimable, because he possessed the most
necessary and noble parts of the Art. Correggio
possessed the most amiable and enchanting: Ti-
tian contented himself with pure necessity,
which is the simple imitation of Nature.
