DER NEUENHEIMER.

XXII

minutes Reiz coming round, along the touch line and on
reaching the back, passed to his brother who ran in
without opposition. Reiz failed to convert. After the
drop off the Neuenheim forwards led by Dr. Henderson
and Stoker forced the ball to the Visitator's territory
where it stayed for some time in spite of ugly rushes
by Stasny. Just before half time Reiz receiving a pass
ran in between the posts and Stasny improved. The
whistle then blew for half time leaving Frankfurt 8 points
to the good.

After the ball had been kicked off for Neuenheim
some very even play was intnessed in the Frankfurt
territory the principal feature being the good forward
play on the Neuenheim side which would have resulted
in a try had not Stasny broken away and passed to
Reiz who scored and failed to convert. After the
kick off Neuenheim again nearly scored but were pre-
vented by the excellent tackling of the Frankfurt three-
quarters. The latter's forwards then worked the ball
back to the home twenty-five step by step where a long
and brilliant defence of the Neuenheim goal line resulted,
Battenberg twice crossing the line but being both times
held up by Stoker. This ended in Stasny forciny his
way between the posts. Reiz converted the try. Neuen-
heim made a last effort to score after play was resumed
but ,No. Side" when the ball was still in the Frankfurt
territory. For Frankfurt H. Reiz, Stasny and Battenberg
played best, for the School Dr. Henderson, Stoker and
Jewell. The last named was awarded his XV colours
after the match.
