On a pedestal of blue marble 2' square and 2' 8"
high. On the top a socket for a term. Published by
II. Bergk, in Gerhard's Denkmaeler, Porschungen,
&c. 1859, p. 55*. This was found a little to the
south of the spot marked " Ancient Terrace" in
the Plan, Plate I., and is now in the British
Museum. The inscription is to the memory of
Melanthios, a physician, son of Demetrios and
grandson of Melanthios. The name Melanthios
occurs in No. 12c, ante.

In the last line, after p^ov, M. Bergk supplies
xoXTroig; but there does not seem room for more
than five letters.
