DESIGNS FOR DOOR CASES.

Plate XXXIX. Is a design for a door case of the
Tuscan order.

Plate XL. Is a design for a door case of the
Doric order.

Plate XLI. Door way and portico from the Ionic
Temple on the Illissus, (see Plate XXVII.) That
doors of this construction were used by the ancients
is evident from the example of the Tower of the
Winds, as shewn by Stuart, in The Antiquities of
Athens, vol. i.

The above are proper examples to draw from,
and will give some useful ideas for composition and
combinations of the orders, and their parts, and will
look well if executed.

FINIS.

Bartlett and ffi?itont Printers, Oxford.
