An interesting linear structure spotted immediately above these terraces might be linked
to the way in which the settlement was organized spatially, as discussed further on. This
terrace-like structure begins just below the morę massive dry-stone structure,20 which can
be seen clearly in the aerial photographs and partly in the satellite image. This dry-stone
wali may represent Garaśanin’s boundary between the acropolis and lower town.21 The
start of the dry-stone wali can be seen above the source of the Spiła, from where one sec-
tion extends to the north, i.e., the eastem side of Gradina, whereas the other section extends
to the Southwest, toward the Poljićki creek [Figs. 6 and 7], The linear structure of dark
texture extending Southwest from the Poljićki creek, that is to say, toward the coast, most
probably represents a drainage stream bed. It is crucial here to cali attention to Dyczek’s
theoretical reconstruction of the rampart, which — with minimal correction — corresponds
spatially to the uncovered dry-stone wali on the southeastern slope of Gradina [Fig. 8].22
