gives an offering to Osiris Lord of Abydos.
May he grant all good and pure things, and a
coming forth (2) upon the altar of Osiris at all
times of the day, for the hi of (3) the.....,
Prince of all the......., Royal Scaler,
Chiefly Companion, (4) Heriditary Prince of
Abydos, Superintendent of the Treasury,
banishing the evil-doer at all times [?] from
the Palace.' The last words of the inscription
are given hypothetically, being founded on
the supposition that the hieroglyphs read
<0*i ^--s>

at the beginning; of the second line is an
original error: it should be im,. The name

3. Portion of a limestone stele, giving the
inscription [mler sahu Ameny mad Icheru art no
Set-Pepy maat Icheru, ' The Superintendent of
the Treasury, Ameny, deceased ; born of Set-
Pepy, true-voiced.' In the second line Ameny
is called met per ' Superintendent of the
Palace'; and two other persons are mentioned,
the one sesh senb ' the scribe Senb,' and the
other nebt per Set-Hether drit ne A-ten [?] 'The
lady of the house, Set-Hathor, born of A-ten.'

4. Part of a limestone stele, upon which two
lines of figures still remain. In the upper line,
reading from left to right, these figures repre-
sent (i) set-s seten kheher Nub-em-tekhi 'Her
daughter, the Royal Handmaid, Nub-em-tekhi';
(ii) sen-f ur res met [?] sesh Benutet-se ' His
brother, the Great One of the Southern Tens, [?]
the scribe, Renutet-se'; (iii) set-s seten Ichelcer
Amen-set ' Her daughter, the Royal Handmaid,
Am en-set'; (iv) sen-f [ne'] mut- [fur] resmet[?]
Merit-ef 'The brother of his mother, the Great
One of the Southern Tens [?] Meritef; and
(v) shems Pen-lchenya 'The attendant, Pen-
khenya.' In the lower line the figures are
(i) sen-f sab er Nekhent SebeJc-hetep mes ne
Amen-set ' His brother, the Judge belonging to
the city of Nekhent, Sebek-hotep'; (ii) set-s
seten Ichelcer Nub-khd-es 'Her daughter, the
Royal Handmaid, Nub-kha-es'; (iii) sen-f udtu
ne Ichaut hea Sebeh-hetep ' His brother, the
Secretary at the Royal Table, Sebek-hotep' ;
(iv) her sesheta ne Ilet-her nebt Annu Udh mes
ne nebt per De-nub-merd ' The master of the
mysteries of Hathor Lady of Heliopolis, Uah:
born of the lady of the house, De-nub-mera.'
the hieroglyphs are so roughly cat that two of
the above titles can only be translated hypo-
thetically: 1 (ii) The original gives \j^ n \ ,
which seems to be a miswriting for ^^ 1 n ,
shortly written "^j==<- n 1 ur res met; and 1 (iv)
The original ^00,1 i may perhaps be intended
for the same title ur res met. Osiris Temple.

5. Portion of an inscription from a broken
limestone statuette, giving a seten de hetep
formula for the ha of the Erpd ha sahu bdti
mer -per .... Sndd-db mad Icheru ' Hereditary
Prince, Royal Sealer, Superintendent of the
Palace .... Snaa-ab, true-voiced.' By the
coincidence of the names it would seem that
this noble lived during the reign of Snaa-ab,
a king of the XHIth Dynasty, only known
from a tablet found at Abydos. Osiris Temple.

seen the great lintel of Tahutimes the Second
and Third. In the three horizontal lines the

read to left and right. The left hand side is as

bdti neb taui Rd-men-lcheper md Ed (3) xe lid
