Moreover, this volume of the ‘Papers’ contains an article by Mirosław P. Kruk and
Maciej Salamon entitled ‘The Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus Surrounded by Archangels.
Encolpion in the Collection of the Princes Czartoryski Foundation (XIII-517),’ and the
review section includes a critical discussion on the exhibition called Beautiful Madon-
nas on the Rheine (Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn, 2009-2010) written by Wojciech
Marcinkowski.

What is morę, the 4th volume of the ‘Papers’ has one - new - regular column: In me-
moriam, designed as a tribute to people whose work and personalities had a consider-
able influence on the history of the National Museum in Kraków. Without doubt, one of
them was the person associated with the Princes Czartoryski Library, namely Dr Tadeusz
Frączyk, brought back in the warm words of Aleksandra Kabata. Thanks to his personal
commitment and erudition, he combined the scrupulosity of a librarian with the broad-
mindedness of a researcher, becoming a model of the enlightened man and a scholar mu-
seologist in the best sense of the word.
