yellow, &c. will alfo require a due degree of light and fhade to
diffinguiffi them by.
Mr. Kirby confiders the colours receding from white to
black in the following order: z. e. yellow after white, then
green, red, blue, and black, fucceffively. It is difficult, how-
ever, to diffinguiffi fome of thefe by the effect of Indian ink,
yet it is evident fbmething may be done towards it. Thus: the
cube W is fuppofed to be white, Y yellow, G green, R red, B
blue, and BL black*.

It is evident, from the nature of perfpedive in general,
that not only the proper dimenlions of objeds, but alfo the de-
gree of tint, is effential in making them appear at different dif-
