National Competition, South Kensington
It was curious to see that several designers for subjects by Harold Nelson, of Hatcham, including
book-covers had sent plastic models instead of a capital book-plate, and the initial A, which won
working drawings. Two of these, in gesso, by the first prize in a Studio competition, and two
George and Albert Carder, of Worsley, were capital; programme covers, by Henry Ospovat, of Man-
based on Mr. Lewis F. Day's accomplished manner Chester, almost exhaust the examples of black and
