disposition must be gently
dealt with, the unruly need
to be cowed, the slovenly
must be roused, shy sub-
jects have to be allowed
sufficient time — perhaps
necessitating repeated
visits — for them to get
familiar with the camera ;
and so on, according to
the results desired. The
breeder must usually have
his stock taken standing
singly and broadside on,
so as to show their true
proportions, and if possible
in such a way as to mini-
mise or conceal the inevit-
