PREFATORY NOTE.
IT will be found that the present volume of The Studio Year
Book of Decorative Art differs in the arrangement of the
text and illustrations from the three previous issues. The
work has been divided into five sections, each one dealing with
certain well-defined branches of decorative and applied art. In
these sections the names of the designers, together with the illus-
trations of their work, are arranged in alphabetical order, the address
of each artist immediately following the name. The Editor trusts
that this arrangement will meet with the approval of both the
designers and those interested in their work, and increase the value
of the Year Book as a work of reference.
