In the designing and making of fur-
niture no one in England is doing
better work than Mr. Gimson. Sim-
plicity of form, soundness of con-
struction, and unerring judgment in
the selection of the woods used are
the chief characteristics of his art;
and, without introducing any eccen-
tricities in form or treatment, he
is gradually creating a new and
beautiful style in furniture. Seve-
ral illustrations of his work ap-
peared in The Studio Year Books for
1906, 1907 and 1908.

Schools at Hanover and Berlin, latterly under
the late Otto Eckmann. He has recently de-
signed, decorated and completely furnished a
