On finishing his studies at the Im-
perial School for Arts and Crafts
Professor Schmidt entered the busi-
ness of the Prag Rudniker Werk-
statte, Vienna, where he designed
furniture and other objects, and
studied the wicker-work industry.
Hehas also furnished and decorated
several dwellings from his own de-
signs. Last year he was appointed
a professor at the Fachschule for
cabinet-making and woodwork at
Hallein.
