sented by Mr. T. L. Devitt, President of the
Shipping Federation. An illustrated article
on this work appeared in The Studio for Sep-
tember, 1906, and a study for it was reproduced
in colour in the January number of this year.
Mr. Brangwyn was responsible for the scheme
of decoration for the British section of the
Venice International Exhibition in 1905. Four
of his panels, which formed the frieze for the
gallery, were afterwards purchased for the
City Art Gallery at Leeds. These were de-
scribed and illustrated in the April number of
The Studio, 1907 ; and an article on another
important set of panels for the following
Venice Exhibition appeared in the June num-
ber of the same year.

BRYDONE, T. S., Abbey Terrace, Lan-
caster.
Mr. Brvdone is a designer of stained and leaded
glass. He has recently executed several com-
missions for theatres and churches, but he con-
fines his attention mostly to simple leaded
glazing. T wo of his windows were reproduced
in colour in The Studio Year Book for 1908,
while his work was also represented in the two
previous issues of this publication.
CISSARZ, Johann Vincenz, 38 Stafflen-
berg Strasse, Stuttgart.
Herr Cissarz is a painter, but has also achieved
great success as a book decorator and
draughtsman. He has also designed embroi-
deries, woven fabrics, wallpapers, linoleum and

ornaments. At the exhibition of the Artists’
Colony at Darmstadt in 1904 he was represented
by two rooms fitted up from his designs, and a
