family’s history ; a series of twelve large wall
paintings for an old Georgian Manor Hall in
Norfolk, representing sports old and new ; and
a painted dome and great tympanum (sym-
bolical) in the Masonic Temple of the New
Gaiety Restaurant, London. The mural panels
reproduced here are a portion of a series illus-
trating thehistory of the BritishNavy, executed
for the Imperial Hotel, London.

Mr. Nelson is a designer of, and worker in,
stained glass and enamels. His most impor-
tant work recently has been the heraldicand or-
namental glazing at the British Medical Asso-
ciation’s new building in the Strand, London.

Mr. Neatby is a painter who has
applied himself to mural decora-
tion with considerable success, the
chief characteristic of his work in
this direction being his refined
feeling for colour. The previous
numbers of The Studio Year Book
have contained several plates in co-
lour of his designs. A series of large
wall paintings by him, illustrating
passages from Browning and Burns,
were shown at the Franco-British
Exhibition in London last year. His
other recent work includes mural
paintings at Hadham Towers,
