a chalice veil is shown here. She has recently
carried out several important commissions
for ecclesiastical work, including an altar
frontal, book markers, and chalice veil for St.
Augustine’s Church, Birmingham; an altar
frontal and chalice veil for St. Hilda’s, Birm-
ingham ; and a sanctuary kneeler, chalice
veil, and burse for St. Ursula Chapel, Whit-
land’s College, Chelsea. At the New Zealand
International Exhibition and the last Arts
and Crafts Exhibition at the Grafton Gal-
leries, London, she showed a bird panel and
a book-cover for Chaucer’s works.

FIELD, Miss May, North
End, Heyshott,Midhurst, Sussex.
Miss Field designs and executes
embroidery, and her work has
been shown at the Exhibitions
of the Arts and Crafts Society
in London. In 1906 she was
represented by an embroidered
panel for a screen. The three
designs illustrated on pages
81 and 82 display admirable
decorative qualities, and are
peculiarly well adapted each
to its own purpose. That for
an eight-sided shield of an old
screen is particularly well
thought out and arranged, and
is in every way a pleasing and
beautiful design.
