Originally a woodcarver, Herr Wackerle has modelled a
large number of figures for the Royal
PorcelainManufactorv atNymphen-
burg, which attracted much atten-
tion at the Dresden Exhibition of
1906,and again at the Munich Exhi-
bition, 1908. The nearly life-size
terra-cotta figures which adorned
theparkatthe latter exhibition were

artistically, as well as technically, a
triumph both for the artist and for
the manufacturers.

Mr. Wadsworth is a designer of
pottery, and is connected with
Messrs. Mintons’ well-known china
works at Stoke-on-Trent. His work
has been reproduced in all the
