Herr Bauer is a goldsmith and metal
chaser, who only executes his own de-
signs. H e conducts the professional class
for work in the precious metals at the
“Lehr- undVersuch-Ateliers fiirfreieund
angewandte Kunst.” A collective exhi-
bition of his works held at the Munich
Exhibition, 1908, was very successful.

are of gold set with pearls, tour-
malines, sapphires and opals, while
the jewelry on page 126 is of gold
set with pearls and precious stones.

Mr. Benson is an architect, and has
executed several designs for metal-
work which have been carried out
by his firm. He has designed fur-
niture for Messrs. Morris & Co. of
Oxford Street,, and an admirable inlaid secretaire
cabinet in Italian walnut designed by him was re-
produced in the previous issue of The Studio Year
Book. He is represented here by a wrought-iron
stand for a 15m. Burmese gong (page 127).
